Who We Are

TCMC’s mission is to bring people to Jesus and into His family, to magnify God in Spirit-filled worship, to disciple them to maturity in the likeness of Christ, and to equip them for active ministry in the church and life mission in the world. As Mennonites, we have an Anabaptist perspective on faith and life . “Anabaptist” means “re-baptizers” and this movement was founded by 16th-century reformers who believed that baptism was a personal choice upon confessing your faith. We believe in the following core values, adapted from “What is an Anabaptist Christian?” by Palmer Becker, Mennonite Mission Network, 2008.

Jesus is the centre of our faith: Christianity is discipleship. It is following Jesus in the everyday life.

Community is the centre of our lives: The church is a family. Members not only commit themselves to Christ, but also individually and voluntarily to each other.

Reconciliation is the centre of our work: Followers of Jesus have an ethic of love and nonresistance. As transformed persons, we seek to be reconcilers who reject involvement in violence and war.

TCMC is part of Mennonite Church Eastern Canada (MCEC) and you can read more about our Confessions of Faith.
